She brings a wealth of knowledge and organizational skills to help our clients successfully apply for Florida Medicaid benefits. Shelly assists the attorneys at Rooth & Rooth develop a comprehensive Medicaid benefits asset protection plan for assisted living and nursing home care. Shelly coordinates with clients to provide the proper financial documentation needed to determine which assets are subject to Medicaid and which assets are protected from Medicaid. Shelly also prepares and files the application for Medicaid with the Department of Children and Families and follows up throughout the application process. She works with the nursing homes, assisted living facilities and Statewide Medicaid Managed Care program to coordinate benefits and if applicable, to transition a client from a nursing home to an assisted living or home while maintaining the Medicaid benefits.

From 2003-2008, Shelly was an Insurance Agent assisting seniors with proper financial retirement planning.
